Shepherd Thumps Seton Hill, 46-17

GREENSBURG, Pa. - Junior running back Tommy Addison rushed 20 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns to lead Shepherd University to a 46-17 win over Seton Hill in WVIAC football action at Offutt Field on Saturday.

Shepherd took a 7-0 lead when junior running back Addison scampered 21 yards for a touchdown with 10:37 left in the first quarter. Junior kicker Eric Dobratz (Woodbridge, VA/Potomac) added the extra point.

Seton Hill answered back on a 26-yard scoring pass from DJ Lenehan to Jeorge Valdovinos with 6:46 left in the first quarter. The extra point was blocked.

Seton Hill took a 9-7 lead with 5:18 left in the first quarter on a 38-yard field goal by Steve Padilla. The score was set up by an interception by Nick McGahagan.

Shepherd took a 14-9 lead with 1:47 left in the first quarter on a nine-yard jaunt by senior running back Jimmy Sutch (Hagerstown, MD/St. James).

Senior quarterback Kevin Clancy (Westminster, MD/Westminster) found sophomore tight end John Frick (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) wide open in the end zone for a 17-yard scoring strike with remaining in the second quarter. Clancy teamed with junior wide receiver Nikkolai Norrell (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) for the two-point conversion to give the Rams a 22-9 advantage.

The Rams took a 29-9 lead on a two-yard plunge by junior running back Nate Hoyte (Waldorf, MD/McDonough) with 7:31 left in the half.

Addison scored on a 10-yard run with 1:08 left in the half to give the Rams a 36-9 lead at the break. The score was aided by a 64-yard pass from Clancy to junior wide receiver Neal Hardie (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac).

The Rams added a four-yard scoring run by Hoyte with 9:02 left in the third quarter to take a 43-9 advantage.

Lenehan teamed with Tyler McIntosh on a 15-yard scoring pass with 2:45 left in the third quarter. Patrone Wood rushed for the two-point conversion run to cut the lead to 43-17. Dobratz nailed a 38-yard field goal with 34 seconds left in the game to complete the scoring.

Clancy completed 9-of-20 passes for 201 yards, while Lenehan was 23-of-38 for 304 yards for Seton Hill.

Junior wide receiver Nikkolai Norrell (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) had three catches for 27 yards to lead the Ram receiving corps. Valdevinos had six catches for 11 yards for the Griffins Hoyte added 91 yards on 15 carries for the Rams. RJ Butler had a game-high 61 yards on 11 carries to lead Seton Hill.

Sophomore linebacker A.J. Parrish (Madison Heights, VA/Amherst County) led the Rams with nine stops, including two tackles-for-loss.

Shepherd amassed 488 yards of total offense ,while Seton Hill had 407.

Shepherd improves to 4-0, 2-0 in WVIAC play, while Seton Hill falls to 1-4, 0-2.
