Texas wins football challenge

EL PASO, Texas (Sports Network) - LSU tailback Trindon Holliday scored two touchdowns in wild third quarter to help the Texas all-stars top The Nation team, 36-17, in the fourth annual post-season challenge.

After a scoreless first quarter, UTEP cornerback Cornelius Brown returned a fumble 35-yards to the end zone, extending Texas' lead to 10-0 with 9:40 left in the opening half.

Following the break, Holliday scored on a 67-yard pass from Jackson State quarterback Ryan Perrilloux. His two-yard dash pushed the lead to 24-10 with 5:27 to play.

The teams combined to score 35 points in the third frame, with the Texas squad taking a 31-17 advantage into the fourth quarter.
