LUBBOCK, Texas – Tommy Tuberville locked down his first recruiting class as head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raider football program Wednesday, making the official announcement in an afternoon press conference at Jones AT&T Stadium.
Among the group of 25 signees are 17 defensive players, six offensive and two athletes. Three are heralded junior college transfers, all defensive linemen.
The first-year coaching staff turned its immediate focus to defense, specifically the defensive line with eight players. Three defensive players are linebackers, both outside and inside, while six were added in the secondary. Offensively, Tech nailed down three tackles, a quarterback, a running back and a wide receiver.
