CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College head football coach Harold Nichols, in conjunction with the athletics department, is pleased to announce the addition of 19 student-athletes for the start of the 2010 season.

"I am very happy with the kids we signed," Nichols said. "We were able to solidify our needs on both sides of the ball. All these young men came from good high school programs and are good students."

The Blue Hose signed an extremely strong recruiting class under Nichols, who just wrapped up his first season at the helm of the program.

Nichols and his staff received commitments from three in-state student-athletes. PC also landed eight from Georgia, three from Florida, three from North Carolina and two from California.

Twelve of the players will play on the defensive side of the ball while six will help steady the offense. PC inked one student-athlete that doubles as a kicker and punter.

With such a small senior class this past season, PC announced just 19 players Wednesday, including three that have already enrolled and are taking classes this semester.

Isaiah Lynn (linebacker) was a three-time all-state selection while Fred Marshall (defensive back) picked up all-state honors his senior season. Kicker/punter Jeremy Tommie garnered all-state honors as well at nearby Emerald H.S. Multiple student-athletes were voted to play in their given state's all-star games. ESPNU named Ryan Singer (quarterback) a two-star recruit.

"As we make the transition to Division I, this class of athletes is the ones that will help us compete for a Big South Conference title," Nichols said.
