CAA Football's Week Nine Player of the Week honorees are featured below.
Offensive Player of the Week: Grant Enders, Senior, QB, Towson
Enders turned in a career day to spark a Towson offense that unleashed for a 49-35 victory on the road at Villanova on Saturday. The senior signal caller completed 16-of-28 passes for 269 yards and a career-best four scores that included a 78-yard touchdown toss to sophomore RB Terrance West in the first quarter's closing seconds. Enders also ran 12 times for a career-high 122 yards and a 40-yard touchdown that capped his 391-yard effort and helped the Tigers tame a Wildcats squad that entered the weekend having won six of its last seven games.
Defensive Player of the Week: Dontra Peters, Senior, CB, New Hampshire
Peters picks up his fourth career weekly honor after a solid all-around defensive display in New Hampshire's 40-20 win at Rhody. Peters opened the day by putting a quick stop to a probable Rams scoring drive with an interception in the end zone that led to a Wildcats touchdown. UNH would put three more points on the board after he came up with his second turnover on a forced fumble in Rhody territory that resulted in a Wildcats field goal. Peters would also finish with five tackles on the afternoon.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Brandon Lee, Sophomore, DE, James Madison
Lee would prove to play a key role in the Dukes' win over Georgia State on Saturday, as the sophomore blocked a Panther punt early in the second half and returned it three yards for his first career touchdown. The score would put JMU ahead, 28-7, and ultimately serve as the game-winner for the top-10 Dukes.
Rookie of the Week: John Robertson, R-Freshman, QB, Villanova
Robertson racks up his fifth league honor of the fall following another stellar performance in the pocket for the Wildcats. The versatile first-year shined on his home stage, completing an efficient 17-of-23 passes for 216 yards and a career-high four touchdowns on the day. Robertson would also tack on a five-yard rushing score for five total touchdowns on the day.
