Stony Brook Tops Gardner-Webb, 41-10

Senior Miguel Maysonet (Riverhead, N.Y.) totaled 244 yards and two touchdowns and the Stony Brook defense held Gardner-Webb to 111 yards in the second half as the No. 10 Seawolves topped the Bulldogs, 41-10, before a crowd of more than 5,500 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Saturday.

Maysonet ran for 169 yards and a touchdown and had a 75-yard kick return for a touchdown.  

Junior Grant Nakwaasah (Richardson, Texas) led the Seawolves defense with nine tackles.  The Seawolves accounted for 13 tackles for loss, including six sacks.    

It was the fifth straight win for Stony Brook (7-1, 3-0), which has won its first three games in Big South play for a fourth straight season.  Since Stony Brook joined the Big South for the start of the 2008 season, the Seawolves are 22-4, with only one home loss.
