ST. PAUL, Minn.
- Dan Dobson went 12-for-18 for 236 yards and five touchdowns in the first half as St. Olaf built a 42-7 halftime lead on the way to a 42-10 MIAC football win over host Hamline University on Saturday.
The win is the Oles' third in a row and 11th in a row over Hamline in the series between the schools.
St. Olaf outgained the host Pipers (1-7, 0-6 MIAC) 401-183. Dobson and many members of the Oles' first team offense played only in the first half.
Dobson, whose five TD passes are one off Matt Penz' school record, connected with Jake Schmiesing on a 37-yard touchdown on the Oles' first drive. After the Pipers' Zach Cornish broke a 77-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7, St. Olaf scored 35 unanswered points to lead 42-7 at the break.
Antonio Jennings caught two of Dobson's TD passes while Keith Nederhoed and Casie Leslie caught the other two.
St. Olaf hosts Saint John's University next Saturday at 1 p.m.
