Taylor Martinez (Nebraska), Lavonte David (Nebraska) and Dan Bailey (Oklahoma State) have been selected Big 12 Conference Football Players of the Week, as selected by a media panel. All three were honored for the first time.

Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week
Taylor Martinez, Nebraska, QB, Fr, Corona, Calif.

Taylor Martinez accounted for 369 yards in Nebraska's win at Kansas State. He carried the ball 15 times for 241 yards with four touchdowns, covering 14, 35, 80 and 41 yards. He also went 5-of-7 through the air for 128 yards, including a 79-yard scoring strike. Martinez' 241 rushing yards set a Nebraska quarterback rushing record and were the eighth-most in school history. It was also the most rushing yards by any Husker since 1991. The 369 yards of total offense was an NU freshman single-game record while the four rushing touchdowns marked the first time a Nebraska player has reached that feat since 2002. Martinez has 12 touchdowns this season with eight of the 12 covering at least 20 yards, including a pair of 80-yard touchdown runs. The redshirt freshman's 79-yard touchdown pass to Kyler Reed was the longest pass play for NU since 2002.

Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week
Lavonte David, Nebraska, LB, Jr, Miami, Fla.

Lavonte David registered 16 total tackles, including 10 unassisted in the Huskers' win over Kansas State. He also had one sack and two tackles-for-loss. The junior linebacker reached double figures in tackles for the third time this season and marked his second consecutive game with 16 or more, accounting for NU's top two tackle games since 2004. He made key stops to halt KSU's first two drives and another in the first half that forced the Wildcats to kick a field goal.

Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week
Dan Bailey, Oklahoma State, PK, Sr, Mustang, Okla.

Dan Bailey booted two 52-yard field goals, a 47-yarder and one from 25 yards to go with six point-after touchdowns in the Cowboys' 54-28 win at Louisiana-Lafayette. Bailey set a career long when he knocked in a 52-yarder on the Pokes' opening possession, then matched it with a second 52-yarder in the fourth quarter. His previous career long was a 51-yard score against Missouri last season. On the year, the senior is a perfect 11-for-11 on field goal attempts and is 32-for-32 on PATs to extend his school-record streak to 163 without a miss. Bailey ranks third nationally with 13.0 points scored per game and is the first OSU player since 2001 to hit two 52-yard field goals in the same game.
