CALIFORNIA, Pa. - The No. 4 Vulcans totaled nearly 500 yards of offense, forced three turnovers and allowed negative-52 rushing yards against Lock Haven en route to a 58-0 victory in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play at Adamson Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, the California University of Pennsylvania football team improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in league action. The Vulcans have now won 22-straight games in PSAC West play, while the Bald Eagles have suffered 16-conseuctive divisional losses. For the season, Lock Haven remains winless at 0-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Sophomore running back Lamont Smith (Penn Hills, Pa./Central Catholic/Phoenix) anchored the offensive attack for Cal U, finishing with 112 yards and four touchdowns (3, 30, 1, and 1) on only 14 carries. Through five games this season, the 5-10 running back has totaled 666 yards and 11 touchdowns.
